Well one of the hints way VERY HEAVY so shaker came to mind... I don't know what's in the box other than some type of mechanical device, maybe, I think, IDK...

Primitive apple peeler! Did you notice the crank on the side opposite of the prongs?

Ok just is an fruit core-er and peel-er then. I kept looking at that "handle" and figured it wasn't attached to the prongs but I think it turns the prongs. then you use the tool to skin the apple or other fruit (pear maybe too)
