Natural remedy for stinging nettle?

Ouch! I once got ahold of one when I was weeding my flower bed. I will never forget the feeling. It's not named stinging nettle for nothing.

I have heard from more than one person that Dock plant or Jewelweed grows close by and to use the liquid from the stem.

And it leaves marks on my white skin, so it looks like I've got ugly spotty legs

When I get into the Nettles, the stinging will last a couple of days. Is that the same with you guys?

No, only lasts 5-10 minutes. Longest minutes of my life though.

Am I the luckiest person alive that I don't really know what stinging nettles are? I mean, I've heard of them but I don't know what they look like and I've certainly never encountered them.

I have lots in my backyard. They hate me and I hate them. When I get stung, if I don't put something on it immediately, it can go on stinging until the next day.

The 2nd day isn't as bad as the first, but the area is sure tender to the touch and yes, it still stings a little.

You would think I would learn to put my gloves on. But noooooooo, I am thinking I will just pull these weeds and I will be okay. HA!

Gloves? Here it was a case of "once bit, no more weeding!" Now and then I go at them with the spade, just to remind them that I hate them, but apart from that I'm staying well away.
