As for the getting out of debt angle, just google DAVE RAMSEY

I did that but I was looking for some stastics to maybe compare consumer debt 5 or 10 years ago with today.

I may need to narrow my direction and just focus on how people are gardening and canning more now to stretch dollars due to the recession.

one angle might be looking at the forclosure states and drawing a line from that to the idea that a nonselfsufficient livestyle leads one into economic failure in these days.

Everyone is so dependent on someone else and when they fall all go tumbling down with no place to land.
