Newbie from SE Missouri!

Hi everyone!

I found this forum over on BackYardChickens.com and I'm loving it! My husband and I moved out the country on 20 wooded acres almost a year ago and our passion is learning to be self sufficient. We have chickens, guineas, a livestock guardian dog, several outside cats, and 2 indoor cats. I love it! I've always loved animals and I am so happy that I can have as many as I want now!

We have our garden started with lettuce and herbs right now, and have our tomato seedlings almost ready to plant outside. We wanted to have a big garden so we could preserve a lot of our home grown veggies for the winter and we didn't have enough land in the city to do that, so out to the country we went!

I've already learned a lot by browsing the threads so far. Seems like a great community of people and I'm happy to be a part of it!
