FEM, is Cowboy still jumping the fence? My Trip jumped the fence to go play with the neighbor's French Bulldog, Peppy. He and Peppy run up and down the fence barking like insane idiots. But one day, Trip jumped the fence to the OUTSIDE to play with Peppy. The neighbor collared him and brought him back.
I took Trip on an outer parameter walk. Between each and every T-post I grabbed the top of the wire, shook it and in a scolding voice told Trip, "This is MY fence. You don't jump MY fence. BAAAAAAD dog! No! You don't jump Mommy's fence. You stay in the fence!" And then i'd call him to me, he'd walk to me all hang-dog, submissive, eyes squinted, teeth grinning, S-L-O-W-L-Y lifting each paw to walk towards to me. Then I praised him, loved him, got my hairy dog hugs and went to the next T-post. I have done this several times and Trip hasn't jump out to the OUTSIDE again. He jumps in and out of the sheep pasture, comes to the house and sleeps under the porch in the heat of the day. He jumps back in in the evening to chase cars, trucks, school bus and garbage trucks along the fence with Paris. I don't care if he jumps in and out, just not to the OUTSIDE. I think he got the message.
