Just like indoor camping! Hope DD likes the "adventure!"
I was seriously annoyed with ESB here when half the country lost power with the storms we had. Seriously, Ireland gets big storms nearly every year and every time that happens, power lines and trees go. You'd think by now they would've learned and be prepared for it? I'm sure it would cost less to trim and cut trees threatening the power lines than endless repairs after big storms. And it's not like this country can't sacrifice a few trees, we have loads of them. Our power got restored after 24 hours and we were LUCKY! Many places had to wait much longer. We have crews come around every summer, before hurricane season gets started, and they trim the trees. Some folks get a little pissy because the contractors for the power company aren't exactly interested in making the trees aesthetically pleasing - they just trim 'em. I don't care what the trees look like as long as they don't knock down my power lines!I'm sure it would cost less to trim and cut trees threatening the power lines than endless repairs after big storms.
I'm so glad you have the generator! Multi-day outages in winter scare me. We have wood furnace but can't run it without electricity! How is DD holding up with the adventure?
