Not a great shot for evaluating her crest... but it looks nice and tight, and on the smaller side... all characteristics that I prefer.
That's a great way of describing it, nice and tight. Alot of my others are.... not so nice and tight, namely that one in the background. I call her crazy crest.

Hubby has been calling the buck "Forky". With this picture we could see one of the forks is splitting into a other tine at the end. He's been hanging around quite a bit. We were surprised to see him with the does. Two older girls and a smaller one that was probably last years fawn. They aren't even afraid of me. Much like the stupid bull elk that comes around. The cow elk herd will move if I get too close and yell at them. They eat my trees.

A long dead tree limb with insect etched intricate art work.
Isn't Mother Nature awesome! That's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time! Don't burn 'em! Let the grands put their stamp on 'em - shellac the heck out of 'em and use 'em for porch art!
