oh and good news...well 2 good news...
1: poppy actually semi took her bottle this morning...shes still not grasping the real tounge lock suckling that Lilly has so im thinking a pritchard nipple might be a better choice...BUT after i managed to corner her and get her settled in next to me she actually nommed 5oz of milk! WOOT, theres hope for this girl yet. lilly took what poppy left so nothings going to waste aorund here lol. but im thinking a longer more goat natural nipple might help the process even more.
AND
2: Pink Fox farm has its first "home grown" babies.
bluebell delivered 6 fat and wiggly little babbits at some point in the early hours of this morning, man she whent to town on the fur after dark (nothing in there when i checked before bed) 3 wigglers had managed to get themselves out of the nest but i think it was a case of was feeding and momma heard me comming so jumped out of the nest taking these 3 with her, so i warmed them up and put them back in when they felt the same temp as the other babies, they were wiggly and active, but ill keep a check on them through the day to make sure they didnt get chilled (bteing there not on wire and theres a good 2" layer of shavings in the whole hidey house its not like there directly esposed to cold on the belly so i think it helps give some extra leeway in terms of helping keep babies from chilling if dragged out of the nest...but we'll see.
didnt do a color count yet but its a nice combination of some nice marked brokens and some "solids" (probably otters) there probably all going to be black/black otter carrying for dilute given the gentics but rabbits can suprise you.
not gonna fuss with them much today, bluebell is active alert but doesnt seem too spazzy when i checked, but still dont want to obsess or stress her into giving up by constantly checking on them.
Will try and get some pictures a little later though

at first i thought there were only the 3, but when i dug in the nest (making sure no stills) there were 3 more burried good and deep in a thick bed of fur hay and straw. she did a good job
so yeah, good morning and its only a little after 9am lol.
todays plan involves powertools, got to get the gate for the goat shack secured up a little better

im hoping i have enough scrap peices that i can make a topper wihtout having to spend any more money, but we'll see, figure ill use what i have first, then hit lowes if i dnt have enough after that. youd think being surrounded by a dumping ground id have plenty but unfortunatly most of the wood is so badly rotten and infested with rot and termites...
on that note talking to the goat guy yesterday while traumatizing my babies...
he said te same as ive been thinking for the piles of shingles...Bury them. says pull out any metal obviously, then go along with a big magnet and get whatever nails i can (aparently thes can also do well for scrap metal?) make sure i remove any old barbed wire/broken fence (rust/sharp) and any large chunks of glass...then just Burry whats left... he shingles will take a long while to rot down but they eventually will and all the privets growing up through the piles, once the goats clear out the visible still whats left will continue to "support" them from the inside so they wont slide or simply collaps.
least i dont feel quite so crazy for my idea or "burry them!" lol.
but yeah.
got stuff to do both in and outside today, right now im having a meach and mango smoothie for breakfast and chilling...then its "off to work"
