well today is clean the house day and im on zero motivation. lol.
but i wil get to it before the days end, honest.
got a sink full of dishes to do, mum and dad are comming out in a week and a half so got to start getting things sorted for that, not that i have much to do on that front.
need to get rowans babies sold so ive lowere the price online to $15, i dont realy have the money to drive to crump this weekend to try and sell them at the flea market so heres to hoping i get more bites now.
got to go into Selmer tomorrow and my bank account is going to be incredibly angry at me if i hve to fill my car up so i need to avoid additional driving for the next 2 weeks especilly if i dont get these bunnies sold.
ive decided im also going to sell this litters momma rowan. shes the only bunny i CANT get litter trained andim having to clean her house 3 times a day just to keep the flies under control, costing me alot more in shavings thn it shoudl be and i want more color in the herd...Shes a great momma, had a good big litter, but shes a little more trouble than shes worth right now.
so going to be asking $25 for her as a proven doe and can expose her to my buck if her buyer wants.
yup trying to stick to my "if its not workng fix it" rule and Rowan just isnt working in the group right now...
shes the only bunny i drad each dy because i know im going to have to scoop her entire cage AGAIN every time i go outside.
otherwise, pip tried some spinach today, im consitently finding poop so im thinking it must have been some kind of gi issue, hes perked up a little, still not as active as the other buns, but he has perked up so thats a good sign. the black holland doe whos cage mates ot the one i lost the other day is also doing just fine, eating drinking and hopping around, as is my "generic white bunny" Haystack so ive got fingers crossed that were over that annoying death bump!.
The goslings re doing great, entered the funky teenager stage of life where they have got their belly and wing feahters but down elsewhere, but there so funny! they keep the ducks in line too! they still follow me around but now have no interest in letting my pick them up anymore, my babies realy are teens lol. going to try and catch them in the next few days and give vent sexing them another attempt, its supposedly easier now there a little older and i want to be a lttle more sure of their sexes before i go bringing them home a boyfriend. still holing out that i ave a pair because personality wise they are quite different, dandelion is defintly the bossy one, she will bite the ducks tails if they dont move out of her way fast enough, shes also got a much more slender head, where as burdock is quieter, "her' bill is takng a lot longer to loose its black (there a "pink" billed breed and the head is "heavier")
id LOVE it if they were a pair.
The ducks are funny too, i can now officially pick out "mr. Puddleduck" in the group as hes now got his big boy "quack" which realy sounds like hes hoarse while the girls are very defnitivly ducky qucking he sounds like hes got a cold LOL, im glad i whent with the black runners, seeing them in the sun, they are just STUNNING, the plumage on their wings and sides turns green blue and purple depending on how the light hits it. now lets just hope when they get to laying they hold up to the legend that is the runner...they are very good forragers though, fast to find food and i cant wait untill i can get the area that will be the orchard fenced in as that will become part of thier territory, its essentially a big clover feild for them to run around nomming their way through.
the goats are doing fine...realy need ot figure out how im doing thier portable pen though so i can get them out browsing during the day without having to worry. the neighbors dog "broke his chain" again yesterday (i nearly hit him with my car as he came bounding off thier front porch into the road at my car...bt its ok, no worries as the neighbor tells me...he gave him a "Good whoopin" and he knows what it was for so he wont be doing it again) *grumbles*
so i just cant tie em out i need somehting a little more secure and cant afford attle pannels or electro net right now.
Im thinking a 50ft roll of welded wire and some t-posts and just doing it liek a round pen. i can handle the 50ft roll by myself (its a little more arkward when its all unraveled trying to move it but not all that much of an issue as its ligth enough to drag) and then once there in thier perminent pen it gives me 50ft of welded wire to use for other projects...
veggie garden is doing ok, im pretty sure my spinach and lettuce are going to bolt soon so im leaving them as rabbit food and taking the odd leaf as it come. the peas seem to be doing well too and my roma tomatoes are doing nicely in terms fo fruit...the marion and big boys not to much on the fruiting though...
pepper plants arnt that large but loaded with flowers so im not sure how there going to turn out lol.
definatly got lots of plans for next year in terms of the veggies
im getting there...slowly but surely lol.
