thanks, i actualy realy like grooming the dogs, some days i think "hey i could make a living" but then my back offers me a reality check...i just cant stand/bend like id need to to do more than 2-3 dogs a day...
today is going to be a fairly lazy day...
got to run to the store for milk...*grumbles* because i didnt even think to pick that p while i was already down that way yesterday *gah*
but other than that, no real plans, might fill my bucket with soapy water and start working on cleaning the gourds off, got lots of small ones that should make some cute bird houses, at least 1 broken one that i think im going to try carving instead...im thinking votive holder as its not huge

once ive finnished cleaning them, ill harvest al the seeds i can out of them for planting.
i may even try putting some in now...given the average last frost date ive got another week or 2 before its too late for them to mature in time....and they do like it HOT.
i lost the fuzzy lop yesterday, REALY frustrated since he had an ice bottle and usually curls up next to it but for some reason yesterday made no attempt to sit neer the bottle. so thats it...
ive decided im going to try and sell my mini rex pair...i love my opal buck and if i dont sell him before weekend i might breed bluebell back to him before hand...should give me 100% broken and solid Opal babies, and if so ill keep 1 or 2 of the biggest girls as thats my FAVORITE color and when bred back to standard bucks i should get back up to size in the first gen.
I need to sell either rowans last himi doe or the meat mix haystack...haystack is closer to breeding age...but im stil debating if i want to stick soley to rex or if having a meat mix doe in the group is a good idea...itll depend on who iget any interest on...whoever sells first is the one that goes.
but the mini rex and 1 of those 2 young does need to go.
the wood from that bank of cages should put me ahead of the game for building the guinea house will only need a roof and floor (im thinking of ding a wire floor using the rie from the fronts of those hutches which will also save money) all ill realy need is 1 sheet of ply some 2x4 pressure treated and some 1x2's for the supports and run. given itll be going inside the electric fence area for the goats ill just use chicken wire for the run aspect of it so it shoudlnt be too expensive to build if i salvage that bank.
the duck and goose ouse s going to be moved out of the current rabbit area and im going to colonize the girls. once ive got the guinea and goat stuff sorted out. shouldnt be too big of a job, ill run electric on the outside to keep out most predators (mabe run a line on top too) will lay down chicken wire on the inside of the fence 2 ft up and then 2 ft on the ground along all the edges, and put up a fence behind the current hutches to keep them from getting neer the foundation of the house. the hutches that the boys are in will stay as is and undrneath will be a feeding station plenty of room under there for a big bowl for water and one for food and something to keep the hay in and off the ground.
the hutches the girls are currently in will be modified some what to make it into 4 seperate "houses" for getting out of the rain, ill also get some larger steralite containers which im going to try and at least partially bury as nest boxes. build a "grow box" (an 8x8 box with fencing ontop that will be seeded with mixed grasses and clovers, they can graze it down but not kill the roots) and an 8x8 dig/cool box.
i may then end up runing chickenwire over the rest ot prevent any digging...itll depend. but i think itll be easier to keep them cool in a colony setting where they can sprawl on the dirt than it will trying to keep the hutches cool. i wanted to colony in the first place, so why the heck not. ill keep the 2 uper hutches forgroing out babbits, i can pull them at 4 weeks and seperate them out and handle them so theyll be tame pets by 6 weeks...
this is the plan in my head at least. i need to get the goat fence and guinea houses done first...but the colony i think is going to eb a better way to go for me.
once i eventually get a barn built i mght revisit the plush lop program least in a barn i can run fans and misters if i need to...but right now its about making money back and paying for itself and with the reacent losses im majorly in the hole, so im not interested in putting anymore money into the smaller breeds right now.
and yeah, its alost lunch time so i should go ice the rabbits and then go get a gallon of milk and have some lunch...
