OMG what a long tirng but good day
got ut of the house right when i wanted to, long but easy drive, hit a little traffic at memphis but otherwise quite.
Memphis is odd...the area the clinic is in is less than 10 mins form the area the zoo is in...the cliic area, run down, rough, and honetly not a place id personally want to be late at night...
the area just down the street from it and around the zoo itself howevr STUNNIGN, big old well keps historic homes, treelines streets, beautifully kept gardens...absolutly gorgresou...always amazes me when there such a thin line between millionair row and Skidd row...
got dozer and willow dropped off, everyone was inlove with dozer who aparently cant go anywhere without making friends lol.
from there off to the zoo.
memphis zoo isnt that big, thier entire full walk trail round the main exhibits is 2 miles, but by the time id done the circuit plus the siade paths in the exhibit, plus some back and forth to shows i managed to log 7 miles today...(i ACHE lol)
its a nice zoo though, nicely layed out, good acess to exhbits and the exhibits themselves are nicely done.
ended up having my lunch in the primate canyon...i ate and sat watching the gorillas...
after lunch i finnihsed the loop before setting down to catch some shows, caught the sealions, the grizzly and polar bear feedings, elephant feeding and the big cat talk.
i have to say while the bears arnt my fave animals at the zoo, the bear eeding was AWESOME. they have a pool and an "under water" (the waters about 4ft deep) veiwing area, the feeding is done in the pool so the bears at literally inches from your face...same with the polar bear...SERSIOULSY coolness
ill post pictures a little later i promise
got the call about 3:45 that dozer and willow both came through surgery perfeclty fine and were fully "recovered" and ready for pick up early if i wanted and i figurd since id seen all the exhibits caught the shows i wanted to and checked out the gift shop (didnt buy anythgin) i could call it a day.
picked them up...great group of people, everyone was going on about how much they love dozey and how much of a goofball he is...said even as he was comming out of nesthesia he was trying to give everyone kisses lol they also commented on how theyve never met a cat as quiet as willow...i told them its because shes been mewoing so much for food the past 2 weeks shes finally lost her voice (whihc is true lol)
loaded everyone into the car
stopped for gas...
got hit on by a guy at the slightly scary gas station...
got more compliments on dozer fomr a couple who HAD to tell me how gorgeous he is, and then tell me to get the heck out of the area before it got dark cause its "scary" and "this city with kill you" so we got motoring.
drive home was touch and go in the beginning, hit some snags on the I40 out of memphs and then again in one of the towns on rt64, a car had decided it was going to take out a stop sign and for whatever reason that meant 6 cop cars, 2 fire and 2 ambulance (for 1 car and a stop sign) and shutting down a 4 lane road for almost 45 mins...
once we got past that snag though it was smooth sailing home.
As supsected, let willow out of her carrier she came out purring gave her a fuss, she ate and is perfectly fine...
Dozer however is lay on the floor squeeking because hes in agony...
(they both got pain shots...) ive no doubt hes sore...but it always makes me laugh shen a female comes through a much more involved and painfull spay surgery and is "fine" afterwards, yet a male is drama queen central...lol
either way, right now hes not bothering the insicion site (glue thak goodness) so no cone of shame but that could change as the pain meds wear off and the dopey after anesthesia wears off too.
anywho.
was overall a great day for me...dozers none too happy but hell get over it...
got to go out, feed and put everyone to bed and then time for supper (sausage and salad)
then a muscle relaxant and picture uplaods and veyr likely...and early bedtime...SOOOO tired and achey. though the drive did more damage to my back than the walking did.
