well im home from Jackson, splurged at the ird show and boughta pair of English budgies, like the $10 American parakeets only larger, fancier more expensive (handfed babies can bring $75+) and more likely to talk, been looking for English for a while and the guy gave me a good price.
so now I have my parotlets, my young lovebird pair and the English budgie pair, th plets have decided to lay again and are on 2 eggs (talk about timing, my own fault for not pulling the box...she may not hatch them out...but we'll see)
the English should be old enugh to breed but I wnt be setting them up until after weve moved and gotten ettled, and the lovvies wont be ready tobreed until probably closerto fall, I got them a few weeks back from a friend who decided sh didn't want them, there not "friendly" (she was told when buying them they wernt hand fed and that if she got a pair theyd bond to eachother...)
couple clutches a year out of each of hem to hand feed though, gives me some extra cash flow coming in, and its not an expensive hobby.
the plets are currently having a hissy fit about the new neighbors above them, but the plets generaly don't like change...
however they generally breed better when theres sounds of other birds around them..and the budgies will mimic them REAL quickly...
need to figre out names for the budgies though, males green, females blue
sunny and sky are the plets, peaches and herb are the lovebirds...hmm, names names...for some reason I want to cal the mle pickle...mabe pickle and dill?
anywho, still no word formthewoman whos supposed to be picking up the futon today, shes put me off twice already so if she hasn't messaged me in the next 15 mins with a time, im passing it to the next in line, getting real sick of dancing aroun trying to figureout my schedual to accommodate her finding a way to pick it up...her boys have a truck, but last time they were supposd to come th boys were drinking so it wasn't safe...surely if you knew, and they knew you were supposed ot be somewhere at a certain time...youd refraim from drinking prior?! so this is strike 3, if she doesn't pick up today these someone else interested...they can come get it. I need to keep the momemtum going and getting rid of somestuff is doing that...
anywho.
birdshow was small but pretty god, prices were still a little high on a lot of things, some guy charging $200 forgery sugar gliders, ive seen breeders selling greys for $100...he wanted almost a grand for a mosaic (there usually $600)
was going looking for a pair of greencheek conures (ince e-budgies are hard to find around here) but theconues were all priced high, $200 even for breeders (I can find breeding pairs for the pice they wanted fr 1....) but some folk were priced great and realy nice, almost walked out with a caique had I not been poor, $625 bird (actually priced well) pretty girl...someone tried to grab her off the age and she nipped and flew down to the floor, I picked her up and se was snuggling for a good 10 mins before the guy goes, ummm, you know she bites right? apparently not me...lol but theres no way I have nor could justify spending tat kin of money on a lil parrot, esepcailly since keira seems to have a weakness for chasing birds...sometimes she cant even rest chasng the chickens even tough she knows the rooster kicks her tuckus!
anyway, gonna pu somegroecies away andbag up the dogs chicken then have some lunch, no word formfuton lady by the time that's done shes lost it...after lunch heading down to E's...
busy busy.
I hope she finds a good home, birds like that can be hard to place, they choose thie people.
