Electric fence often isn't enough even for does-- they are smart enough to figure that the electricity only comes in pulses and they can feel the pulse with the sensitive hairs around their mouth- then they either bite the wire or just walk through it.

ive never had an issue with e-fence and does...but I also take the time in the beginning to proof, I ball pen...(fence with electric inside) seems if they never learn they can push through" the pain they never try lol
here we have rail fence with electric between the rails to bridge the gaps and no one risks it lol...
but I do worry a buck in rut is gonna do anything he can...
it does help we have minis but I know they can be even more stubborn than full sized lol.

but im def going to do welded with backup electric, probably 3 lines in the buck pen, 1 nose down height, 1 shoulder height and one top line... and a shoulder height line in the doe pen...

I was supposed to have a load of straw coming in tomorrow...but they undersold me...I was first in line, were tyring to figure out pickup vs delivery and they email me back and go "well someone offered me $5 a bale so we sold them...." not...hey someone offered us more but you were first so are you interested in paying more? just a...hey we sold them out form under you cause thye offered more and can could take them now...
shrug. obviously must be a better deal out there waiting for me...

we do hwoever seem to be getting a trailer...
found an older 2 horse bumper pull on craigslist, we whent to take a look tonight, its got some surface rust but is otherwise in good condition, newer breaks, newer tires, emergency break system, working lights, plates, floor boards are good shape, new mats ect...dad seemed to like it and were supposed to go pick it up Saturday...this means hauling straw/hay/pellets/critters is going to be MUCH more doable...its light enough also that I should be able to pull it with the jeep OR truck...
would be helpful and handy.

Lol Deb. Good thinking! Glad you got a deal. We are desperately trying to search for a trailer too, even a flat trailer would be just fine right now. It's going to take time though.

yeah ive been souring craigslist and this while wasn't cheap was a great deal...its a little rough in spots but nothing some paint cant fix!

and yes, now I DO need the horse to go with it...even mums been on "my team" the last week or so after seeing all the amish riding round in Lancaster county PA lol, we were talking the other day and she did actually recognize that im the one who does ALL the animal work and that while dad and sister say they could do it, the fact is they just don't...(and dad doesn't even remotely have time to anyway) and i mentioned that i like doing it, id just like a little help here and there...or more so a "well done" or "thank you" or at least trust me as o wether r not i can care for a specific type of animal.. ect...

anywho.
me and dad started working on the last stretch of fencing in the goat pen this morning....then i had to leave him to it while i took sis to her procedure (wernt sure if shed be able to drive afterwards) so he finished while we were out, ive got to go up in a few, double check it all and put everyone on thier respective sides and tada 1 big job done.

me and mum were also talking about the future critters and pigs seem to be the next n the list.

it is amazing what an attagirl does for the work ethic lol.

supposed to be going for that trail ride today...got to print out the certificates, and have a shower....
that's is sis's back is feeling ok...if not itll have to be reschedualed...

will probably spend this evening working on cleaning up and sorting out the barn, weve got a fridge to go up there and dad wants to make space for a deep freeze for hunting season/meat overstock, he also wants to clean out the tack room so he can put all his tool cabinates and stuff in there as his workshop, that would empty out the garage and make room for those plans...the current plan is tu turn half of whats left of the garage (aproximatly 10x10, into a pantry, theres a chest freezer in there, and well put the fridge out of the kitchen in there, and shelving, the other side will be wherethere going to set up their home brew stuff (and probably where we will be storing a pallet of pellets for winter heat.
once all that's figured out the old shed is the next big job...need to hire a dumpster, empty it out and fix it up as much as possible...roof leaks and theres some rot but dad things itll be better and cheaper to fix it to see us through the next couple years than replace it...so once empty thatll get fixed up and hopefully there will be room in their for both motorcycles, the motorcycle gear, the other 2 ton of pellets and a storage loft for the miscalaneous things...
we are going to have a BUSY fall. lol.

Ontop of all that I need to find a load of hay and straw to stock the loft, get in some stock of shavings too, build a house for our goaty boys for at minimum rain protection right now...and theres fencing work to do around front.

well I hate people.
today I met a woman who bought 2 bunnies, we sat and chatted, she peted and held, decided to take both seemed all good.
I whent off and ran errands all afternoon and get back to an email about 2 hour after she got them home that 1 is "extremely malnourished" and the other is "heavily pregnant and malnourished" (because it has a round belly) and if I don't do something about it by tomorrow shes reporting me for animal cruelty
firtly...im not sure how a 9 week old rabbit gets pregnant, second of all...im not entirely sure how a MALE gets pregnant (yes shes claiming I sold her a 9 week old "Heavily pregnant" male...) and 3rdly its not like you bought them sight unseen, how they were "super adorable" 2 hours before and "extremely malnourished" 2 hours later...

I get the feeling shes got them home and hubby has had a fit or something..
1 boy was a lot smaller than the other, hes the runt (as I told her) and the other buns have been pushing him off the food bowl, but, if your not sure...why not say something there and then...no one held a gun to her head, no one said she HAD to take them...infact I mentioned in the email there was absolutely no pressure...take 1, take both...take none...

but instead of arguing with her (about my apparently pregnant miracle 9 week old boy) I told her I can meet her tomorrow and will refund her cash and take them back...I just don't have the energy to deal with people like that.
and I certainly don't want Animal control knocking on my fathers door...especially since I do raise for meat...

I realy do dislike dealing with people.
ive never had an unhappy bunny buyer...this is realy frustrating...
more so this is realy frustrating for me..i deal with agoraphobia. going out and talking to these people is draining...this...even more so...I ust want to cry right now and is a silly response but still...UGH.
this is the stuff that makes me rethink all of everything...do I realy want to deal with people...realy?!

anywho...
this only mars a pretty good afternoon...
momma decided kinda randomly were getting pigs...the whole thing happened very quickly, they are not the kune kunes I wanted...but we currently have 2 little mini pigs in the kitchen eating supper. long drive, probably why the bunny bull has rubbed me the wrong way so much, but they were very nice folks who love heir critters and were realy welcoming. was a nice rip, but dirving distances always tires me out.

Ugh. People are not smart. I'm currently dealing with an annoying customer from you know where that just won't go away and I'm not happy about it either.
Now you need to take pics of the pigs!
