Plants--easy money for some!

One of the largest, busiest stands at our local farmer's market is a couple of women who sell perennials grown locally.

This is a brilliant idea! I've got loads of plants that need to be divided. Selling them at a garage sale sounds like a great way to make some extra $$$

We have a ton of Mistletoe that grows around here but I think it's protected in Ca. Against the law to touch it.

I actually used to split my Creeping Charlies and sell them in a little plant stand in front of my old house. Granted I was about 7 but I made a couple bucks. Maybe I should try it again.

Great idea here - I have tons of daylillies and cannas.

Also, I plan to start right away starting rosemary Christmas trees.

Those things sell for a ton of money at Christmas. I have 3 really big rosemary bushes and I plan to start right away starting some in pots to sell at Christmas time.

I could not believe the prices on those things this year.

Edited to add: We shoot mistletoe out of trees too.

There is a house that we drive by sometimes that did this. They had a self-serve honor system stand in the yard. They sold their extra plants that way. Great prices and you could see how well the plants were doing in their own garden. If they do it again this year I hope to get some things to add to my front garden.

Good gosh FC- You are a real marketing genius. I better not visit you- if I fell asleep in the lawn chair, you probably find away to market me before I woke up.

But those are great ideas- i bet that those plastic black pots that plants come in could be found free- I must have a hundred that I refuse to throw out but don't really have a use for.

I can't believe mistletoe is protected in California- it grows like a weed in the oak tree all over the place. :/

This is just what comes from going to the market and knowing that while I am there, with my tables set up, and produce and products on the table---hmm...what else can I sell and make money on CAUSE I AM there anyway ya know.


I could market you!--well, maybe....never dabbled in human trafficing before...LOL----wait, let me google and see what I can learn!

I have been think about planting seeds and selling potted plants. We have an area my husband had been dumping leaves for years and the soil is really rich plus we have all the manure you can think of around our place. So I can truly say they were planted in organic materials. Most people buy plants for their gardens around here anyway.
