Last year we made 58 pints of maple syrup. It took us about 10 days worth of boiling and about 3 face cord of firewood. We've been eating alot of pancakes, waffles and I use it in homemade pork and beans.
How do you make homemade pork n beans? Please share.

My fav recipe so far:

Boston Beans
2 lbs beans
2 onions chopped
1 TBSP sea salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 TBSP minced garlic
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 bay leaves
1 TBSP dry mustard
1 tsp black pepper corns
1/4 lb bacon or ham fat

I soak the beans for at least 24 hours in non-hard water, then boil them vigorously for 1 hour, then I toss everything in the crockpot on high for 8 hours.

That's it! I'm moving north! wait.. let's think this through... In MS you get a growing season from February to October. In Indiana you get maple syrup. What to do? What to DO?!? I can't decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainlty nothing wrong with the mild MS climate, but this Indiana maple syrup sure is good!
