not the store.....the other employees or managers. Humans are the trouble here!!

You got the great place to work with understanding and caring people.....or you hit the crap jackpot of loser co-workers who don't care and work against you. ugh

Snow snow and more snow....that's what we woke up to today.

Also, I got the experience of fixing barbwire fence after a buck chasing a doe crashed through ours. Thankfully, didn't snap the fence, just popped the staples out of the post, so it was re-string and re-staple.

Next month will be 1 year since Ernie fell face first in the snow. Hard to believe it's been a year already.

I'm looking forward to the newness of 2010! I think this next year, no I don't think, I know that God and this next year has great things in store for us, and I'm ready to get this party started!!

This song has been running through my head allll day....

Lonestar-My Front Porch Looking In
Oh yeah
Yeah oh yeah

The only ground I ever owned was sticking to my shoes
Now I look at my front porch and this panoramic view
I can sit and watch the fields fill up
With rays of glowing sun
Or watch the moon lay on the fences
Like that's where it was hung
My blessings are in front of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
From my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
And the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in, yeah

I've traveled here and everywhere
Following my job
I've seen the paintings from the air
Brushed by the hand of God
The mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea
But I can't wait to get back home
To the one he made for me
It's anywhere I'll ever go and everywhere I've been
Nothing takes my breath away
Like my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in

I see what beautiful is about
When I'm looking in
Not when I'm looking out

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most

Oh, the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in
Yeah
Oh, there's a carrot top who can barely walk
(From my front porch looking in)
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong, yeah
And the most beautiful girl
(Beautiful girl
From my front porch looking in)
Holding both of them
Oh, yeah
This song always makes me think of my brother. This is his favorite song. He's in the Army, stationed in Germany right now. We haven't seen him or his wife and his two daughters since 2007. Next year, they're being moved to Missouri...and he's going to be a drill seargant! Right now he's with K9 over there...

Anyway, this part of the song...
My blessings are in front of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
From my front porch looking in

is what's been sticking with me. :)

It is so quiet here this morning!

Woke up to find Baby Boy isn't feeling well. Running a fever, runny nose, and he just wants to be held and sleep. Pushing fluids in him, that's for sure!

I'm wondering if he might have an inner ear infection, because he was really off balance this morning.

Older kids still got to go to church. That made them happy.

The sun is shining. I'm hoping that means some of this white mess melts away. While the baby is sleeping I'm going to go shovel off my porch and a couple paths to the coops. Maybe with the sun being out it will melt some of this crap. Need to wipe it off all the vehicles, too.

I think it's time to get the sewing machine out and get to work on a few projects that I've put to the side. DD and I are working on a machine sewn quilt for her bed. I'd like to sew the boys one, too.

I'm sooo ready for spring. Spring means eggs, and baby poultry, and good sales at the Auction barn. Spring means fresh grass and no more need to feed hay and it means no frozen waterers...etc. etc...

And yes, I do realize tomorrow is the *first* technical day of winter. I'd just be happy to skip this season all together! :p

Tomorrow is to the Dr. for Ernie for blood tests. Yeehaw.

Maybe I'll finish my wrapping today.

None of my critters are venturing out, save for Lance the Royal Palm tom. He thinks he's king of that yard. Even the mallard gals wanted in the duck pen yesterday. Usually they're out running the yard and adamantly refusing to stay in the duck yard. It's a total disregard to barnyard authority from them!

This is a warm boots and hot cocoa kind of day.

My D1 has even had an ear infection this year and she is 25!

I agree. I am already looking forward to spring as well. I am a Christian, but I could certainly do some Solstice celebrating. I always look forward to Dec 21 because after that the days start to get longer and longer. Right now we are getting just over 9 hours of daylight a day and the daylight we ARE getting is covered by CLOUDS! YUCK.

I long for warm Spring days sitting in the cool grass with the sun shining on my back and a warm gentle breeze blowing my hair.

Morning Sunshine! Snow does have a way of quieting things doesn't it? Hot cocoa and quietness sounds like a great day to me! (Glad you enjoy the sewing... that is so not for me :D ) I think I would almost rather die than sew :p Hopefully your little one feels better soon.
