I have an idea. Get a T-shirt in a team/logo that your fella will like, and make HIM an apron, too. Maybe having it will encourage him to help out around the kitchen/house. It would be more fun for him.;)

I'm frugal like that too. I have tried to tell my girls not to waste money quilting, by buying fabric for the face....why??? Everyone has clothes they need to retire...just cut it up and quilt it...free, but NOOOO!!! I also use left over fabric to make dolls and doll clothes, or use fabric from clothes. Makes my kids happy on a budget.
To tell the truth, most of my used T's are used to tie up tomatoes or to grease my cast iron pots with, but I'm sure there are hundreds of uses.
