I'm frugal like that too. I have tried to tell my girls not to waste money quilting, by buying fabric for the face....why??? Everyone has clothes they need to retire...just cut it up and quilt it...free, but NOOOO!!! I also use left over fabric to make dolls and doll clothes, or use fabric from clothes. Makes my kids happy on a budget.
To tell the truth, most of my used T's are used to tie up tomatoes or to grease my cast iron pots with, but I'm sure there are hundreds of uses.
never would've thought to use old tshirts for my cast iron!! Thx

I've had the same piece of fabric in a plastic container for over a year, all greased up and discolored, from the cast iron and whatever.
I know everything has a limit to its life, but considering who my grandparents were, its hard to throw anything away. I'm always trying to come up with a new use for things before letting them go.
Right now, I'm trying to construct a fence, using repurposed sheetmetal. Really, trying to creat a fortress....getting ready for the zombie apocalypse or something....or so my DS says.
