She seems perfectly happy using the tray when she has no choice and I suspect going under the bed is just convenient, or looking like a good spot for it, when she's up here. I locked her in the bathroom for a day after, with her litter tray and get this… She found the facecloth I had hanging over the side of the bathtub and pulled that off, into her litter tray and crapped on it. If it happened to anyone else I would've thought it funny, and I guess it is, but I was deeply tempted to kick her into the middle of next week when I saw that.

When she scratched me I slapped her hard around the head and have since, when I carry her, made sure to get a good grip on her legs, so she can't get to me. She needs to learn who's rules are being followed here and how to behave in this house. I love animals and I don't like being "mean" to them, I have my limits and getting scratched up like that for no acceptable reason is not going to fly again.

Holy Cow! That little stinker! (literally)

Maybe that's why my idea of a good cat is a barn cat. Hope she gets better for ya!

Sheesh! I thank my parents every few weeks for reminding me why I don't have cats (one of theirs is awful). So now I'll thank you for reminding me not to give in to their cuteness!

Good luck training that one!

You're welcome! lol I must admit I had thoughts around "I'm sure there was a reason I never considered getting a cat" over the last week or so…

Well, I figured the best solution to this problem is to move kitty outside, though I allow her to come in to sleep at night and put a litter tray down for her too. She's not allowed further than the bathroom.

Only problem is… She discovered I have 4 fun feathery play things (2-month old chicks) running around outside… I also have a fiercely protective LF OEG cock running around outside… I shooed her away from the chicks a few times before the cock decided enough is enough and beat the tar out of her. She was unhurt, thankfully, but can't get to anywhere near that bird now, or he attacks her. They're just going to have to figure out how to co-exist until we move...

She certainly did! She is avoiding the chickens completely now, all of them.

Not yet, but I'm hoping soon. I had a bit of a row with my brand new neighbour this afternoon. She has issues with my chickens, she's telling me they are carrying diseases etc and the rooster is noisy. I know the rooster is noisy and apologised for the disturbance, but thinking I'll let my child hang out with birds that carry salmonella?!? Sure…

I went over and spoke to her on Monday after she thought it fine to confront me and my friend in the street (very mature of her?) over the rooster crowing and we discussed it and I heard her out and told her me and the chickens will be gone soon… VERY soon, hopefully.

And it's only a matter of time before she finds out these houses are infested with mice and we'll see how long she lasts ;)

She is FEM, I took her downstairs again today and paid attention this time, no matter how I hold her, the moment she figures out where she's going, she squirms and twists so she can get her claws into me. You can't tell from the pics, but she got me quite deep on my palm and wrist. I'd understand if I was mean to her (I'm not), but really? She's a darn brat!

Me too...zero tolerance of bad animal behaviors, if they don't conform to the program, they are outta here.

I'd be confining her to the litter box area until that's the only place she goes for a long time...maybe put a hood over it, if you don't already have that feature, as she may be going under your bed for that reason. Feels more secure there, maybe?

But that scratching the hand that feeds her? That is never tolerated here and is rewarded with a verbal and physical reprimand. I'd not let her get away with that at all.
