RockyToggRanch journal

I was in The Waterloo area last week and experienced my first grass sighting of the yr. It'll be awhile here... but it's okay. We're zone 4 and the snow insulates the plants:)

If it wasn't for all the snow, I'd love to live there. Sounds like my kind of area.

I was starting to get jealous, but then I remembered how much I like snow and ice. We are in an apartment, :he but at least winter doesn't last as long in the South.

Churros sound really good and are supposed to be good for weaving. It's probably too humid for them to do well here though.

Yay...I'm going to pick up a loom tomorrow. How's THAT for putting the horse before the cart? A friend of a friend has a loom to GIVE away. She's hoping someone can use it. Her brother bought it at an auction at the home of a woodworker. That's all she knows.

So I'll pick it up tomorrow and gift them hand made soaps and jam:)

NOw...to find a spinning and weaving class. and sheep. :)

Hi, RockyToggRanch, I'm late to the welcoming party. I think what you do sounds very interesting. Your soaps are gorgeous. I make soap and hope to make some nice enough to offer for sale someday. I'm just milking my first goats. Maybe someday I'll make soap as pretty as yours! :love

Thank you :) My intent with my soaps is to make a basic looking...great quality soap. Nothing fancy...just awesome soap. Some of the other soap vendors I see at local shows concentrate on frilly, pretty, smelly soap. That's just fine too. Just not my cup of tea. I usually outsell them too BTW. We compare our results..lol

I'm doing reaaaaal good! I read that as you were picking up a LOON tomorrow! And, I couldn't figure out what you'd need one for!
