I had a friend who's grandpa was 93 and still lived alone. He hunted elk every year - by himself. At 93 years old, he was a road hunter. One year, he shot a huge cow that was out in the field. After walking down and as he was getting ready to gut it out, two young guys walked up and started talking to him - congratulating him on the kill, "man that was a great shot" (about 300 yards) and such. One of the guys knelt down and gutted the elk while they were talking. Turns out they were his nephews boys.
They were going to quarter the elk and haul it to the truck for gramps, but he said no, wait. He got his truck and backed it down across the field as close to the elk as he could get. Turns out he had mounted a winch in the bed of his truck - he just hooked the elk up to the cable and used the winch to drag it to the truck and up into the bed of the truck.
He said "At my age, I need to work smarter, not harder". The winch was attached to a metal bracket that could also be moved to the front of his truck to get him unstuck if needed, lol.
I'm going to try again when she is a little older but how it was at the time she wouldn't open her mouth wide enough.
I think someone loves there daddy.
Well I got some plants started, we planted a couple tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, green onions, and green beans. It was Silas's "science experiment" (translation I'm lazy so I get my little man to do work for me.) I still have a lot to plant but it's a start.
