Savingdogs-Saving the chickens

Love that story! It IS nice to see a kitty story.

I always would have said I'm a "dog person" and never really owned very many cats in my life until more recently. But I've had a few pretty cool cats, and my one cat right now is THE greatest cat ever, so I guess they have really grown on me.

She has her quirks, but ... she minds better than almost all of my dogs! Just cuz I TELL her not to do something, she actually stops and won't do it again!

I figure that's pretty good for a cat.

So I loved hearing a rescue kitty story too. :) Most of my kitties have been rescues (though usually as kittens).

I used to have a cat named Smokey, and she looked almost exactly like Smoke! I only had her for about a year. I lost her to FLV. I had never even heard of it b4. They developed the vaccine about 6 months b4 I lost her. That was a horrible year for me w/pets. I lost my cat, dog and rabbit all w/in a short period of time.

Must be one of Marshmellow's relatives, Valmom!

So had an interesting day today. Got up and it was snowing again. :he Felt great. Got everybody's cages and areas all clean and nice. Even the duck Taj Mahal. I always call it that because it is ugly but huge for my small amount of ducks and they love it. And they layed their first egg of the year in there today! Go Ducks! :weee

I got everybody's bedding changed and layed the old stuff out on the muddy paths and tried to deal with all this mud. When we get snow here, it gets really really wet. Then I covered it all with the clean stemmy hay the goats won't eat. Like making lasagna in the yard.

I got the chicken coop and rabbit cages cleaned too and even the kidding stalls once again, came in and showered it all off. Sat down to relax and read my internet fun sites :caf and BAM! :sick vertigo.......vomiting.........ill.....three hour nap.

I wake up feeling...........fine. Hmmmm that is not like me. Oh well. I start puttering around cleaning house, rearranging and getting ready for the new foster. I needed another crate in the bedroom so it involved major rearranging of two rooms and I got all the animal food bags stacked oh-so-neatly in the storeroom, I could fit twice as much in there now. Vaccummed and made everything pretty.

But moving those bags wasn't a good idea. Because as I'm moving the last one in place (something about lifting does it to me) BAM! :sick ANOTHER vertigo attack, I crawl off to the bedroom, this time didn't have anything to vomit, but take ANOTHER nap. Holy cow at this rate I sleep the day away.

Wake up feeling .....fine again. Hubby came home with a delightful new dog. He was supposed to be ill with megaesophagus but he wasn't at all. The vet checked him out and he is perfect. They were just feeding him EIGHT CUPS A DAY of pedigree. Holy cow, any of my dogs would barf alot too if that is what they ate. He ate a normal dinner of normal dog food just like a normal dog and is a lovely, lovely boy. Hubby and I are so happy with our new group, we love these dogs. Tomorrow I want to take a picture for you all with the ridgebacks, all of them in a group, we happen to have four purebreds here at the moment and Bindi Jo, the wannabe mix.

Then finally, I milked Molly with just a minimum of help from Trouble. I got about a cup and a half. :thumbsup

Then, just now, I drank it! Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy! Best glass of milk I ever drank. :D

You need this. :hugs Nasty vertigo attacks. I hate it when my verti goes! Congrats on the milk, and I can hardly wait to see the pics.

Congrats on the milk!!! :D And glad the new pup is working out!

Have you ever tried those exercises that are supposed to help vertigo? When I had my really bad attack the doc mentioned it and I felt like telling him I would KILL him if he even thought about turning my head all which ways. :rant I was never brave enough to try it. I just found that the dizziness would subside eventually (days later) if I never laid flat and tried to keep my head still.

Teehee - I have 'lasagna' all over my yard too. :D Sorry you are having so many attacks now :hugs

OK
EIGHT CUPS A DAY of pedigree
What idiots! :smack I'm sure you'll get him right as rain in no time at all

:woot Milk! I'm about to go out and practice again. The girls are much improved on the stand already and run right to it when I let them out. Shaving the udder was a huge improvement! My girls were very hairy beasts.

What are these exercises? I've never heard of them.
