We did it! Whew! Sebastian yelled a little but Buckley didn't even flinch.
Inhumane? I'm glad I did not pay attention to that Fias Co Farm comment about this technique. I thought it went really well. Buckley was trying to climb in my lap while we did his brother, he was so affected.
It seemed to bother Sebastian a little more, but not much. I have heard him bawl louder for being separated from Molly.

The poor little guys were pretty sore afterwards after all. It just wasn't sore right at first. We ended up feeling pretty sorry for them. But we don't need them to be bucks!

My garden has a good start going! We had a hailstorm today and I was happy that my seedlings have not popped up yet. They probably will in the next day or so according to the timing. We had hail REALLY hard today....it looked like it snowed. I think I really lucked out that my seedlings were not up yet.
I do have quite a few going in the house, but haven't transplanted anything outside because it has been crazy cold for here, unseasonably. April 1 was the first day we got over 60 degrees, and that usually happens in March here, not April. So we are getting a late start to our spring.
We are also atop a mountain and today and yesterday, the valley below us had sun and sunbreaks between showers, and we had very little of that. Our mountain is in front of Mt. Saint Helens, at the north eastern tip of the Willamette valley area of Oregon, so the clouds get pushed up against our ridge and held there, and have a hard time getting over Mt. Saint Helen's, so they stick around. We have quite a few more inches of rain than the valley below us, where our "town" officially sits. We are not really in any town at all. However just past us is a big resort so they keep the main road clear in winter.
I am so glad,at least, that we are no longer getting real winter weather and at least things are warming up.

Those bunnies are soooooo cute! I love the color...I saw one yesterday at the chicken swap that was black with white front legs and a white stripe from its neck to the tip of its nose.....sooooo pretty. Made me think about getting bunnies again.....hubby would kill me though.

Yes my bunnies are known for that color and the fur while being an old meat breed. The story goes that their fur was used to trim the ruffs of royalty in France. I doubt we will eat any of these three or trim any ruffs. I'd really like to see them as pets for cash at this point, to help cover the investment we made in them so far. I would keep more but do not really have another to pair any from this group with, until Nana has some kits for me. I'd rather wait to keep any more rabbits although I'm sure we will eventually..
I re-bred Nana yesterday. My name is Mud. I put her with the rapist again. She just hides in the corner and submits. Junior totally cracked me up this time....He knew just what to do and the fainting thing slays me each time.
I made Hubby watch and he did not find it as hysterical and I do. Maybe it is a female attitude to find humor in the fainting male. It occurs to me he might have been too young last breeding to do things correctly. Perhaps it was a false pregnancy.
A very dear person on this forum was very kind and lent me the entire collection of The Good Neighbors and we watched 1/5 of it last night. Very funny! I can see why everyone here talks about that show! I had never seen it and was surprised when we looked up what year it was made. Many of the clothes have come back in style so we did not notice the clothes and furnishings at first were from the 70s. I did wonder that they did not bring up giving up internet and cell phones. And it was so nice to have it all with subtitles. Hubby said it even helped him understand the English accents with it on. Very cool! I'm looking forward to watching the rest.
