Really, the way boys do things makes more sense to me than girls.

I mean, guys are supposed to provide for females and girls are supposed to make it worthwhile for guys so that their children are provided for.

So guys doing all their crazy stuff to provide makes sense.

Girls suck at making things worthwhile for guys long term. They play so many stupid games, they're lucky reproduction happens at all. It's only because guys are romantics and endlessly hopeful.

Well Hubby is good at thinking it is a good idea to RUFF it, and then when we are without a dryer who is dragging the sheets down from being hung in strange places about the house to dry?

I'm sorry Jamie, I did not mean to "flame" men in general, I really do appreciate that Hubby works a full-time job and then comes home to me whining that things need to be DONE. I remember when I worked full time and came home and threw myself on the bed in exhaustion, so I appreciate that my man does all that he can for us.

It is sometimes his PACE that gets me.....

and only two weeks to clean up your mess? My hubby takes about two years.

no offense taken, just didn't want to forget the other side of the equation.

DW started a "quick" project while I was in CO on business. It's still not done. It will be three years in August. I don't have the skill to correct the defect and the $$$ for finishing it aren't there right now. (bathroom tile)

And to put my 0.02 in here, I've been asking Big G to build me an awning for the goat shed/barn for, oh I dunno, 10 months.

I got sick of asking last summer and in the pouring rain (in a white T Shirt no less ) I hauled my behind out there and started nailing a few boards to trees, the goat shed, the chicken coop, etc with his nail gun. Got a green tarp ready to finish the job.

After I was soaked to the bone, still in my white T Shirt, he came trolling outside and offered me a beer. I just started at him.

Finally, after viewing my masterpeice, he took the nail gun, got some better boards and slapped something together. That something lasted until last weekend, when I complained enough about wanting a REAL awning enough that he promised me he'd make one for me this weekend.

It's not supposed to rain, but there's always the hose, I guess.

My hubby almost never finishes projects. We've lived in this house for about 24 years now, and he STILL doesn't have even one room completed. (It was a fixer upper) He started to redo the deck a few years ago, and the only reason he's finishing it now is because if he doesn't they'll drop our insurance. He started to repair my horse trailer a year and a half ago. (The ramp was falling off.) If I didn't have another, larger trailer, I'd be SOL. It seems like he always needs just one more tool. He's spent thousands for tools, a shed, etc, and STILL nothing gets done. That's why I don't wait for him often, unless I really need him.

I was over reading what Bubbling Brooks was up to. She building a pallet fence. Then she mentioned a link that was posted around here before. I thought of you SD. I though maybe this could be something you could add to your fence.

That is where I got the idea! I saw that link already. I am going to try go grow things in the spaces between like that too. But my pallets have more space between the slats, so I think it will work better as trellissing. I put either chicken wire or landscape fencing or those pieces of dog cage in the open areas so that the deer can't just poke a way through. It is really more of a deer fence and a way to keep the dogs from lifting their legs over there. I usually have the dogs potty in a different area altogether, but just to be sure.

I didn't think about how that comment sounded about men and getting larger. I was just noticing how every time I make a duck pen, hubby enlarges it, or if I want a new deck, he wants a bigger one. If I want a little row boat he wants a yacht, it always seems his ideas are bigger and more complicated than mine.

SD I can totally relate. My big issue with my dh is that he complicates everything. The simplest of projects can morph into something totally NOT where I was going. He does have great ideas but I am more into the instant gratification of getting things done.

I guess the key is to find a balance.
