Oh duh! Our pet rabbit is named Martha because DS loves George Washington... how could I forget that????
 
What a creative group you all are! I got a few more on Facebook, how will I ever choose? Martha and George seem like very "rabbit-like" names, Bam is hysterical......I like "Glory" and "Belle" from another source.....I wish I could sex them now. They are actually not that cute yet, newborn babies look somewhat like little rats. I'll take some pictures when they grow hair!

I love all these names! I wish I had a larger litter now, such great names.
 
Bam and Glory while 1 is a little mor emasculine and the other a little more feminine both could easily be unisex names :)
 
Our rooster was Georgie as a chick until we knew for sure. I don't know how you'd masculinize Martha and still have it be patriotic. :hu
 
Well it is fun picking out names anyway, especially when I thought she would not have any! :bun :bun :bun :bun

My other rabbit is due at the end of the week as well, but this is her fourth try and if she produces anything at this point I'd be surprised. Something is wrong with her reproductive tract or she is too old.

I could name the rabbits after all of YOU guys except y'all have such funny names.

We got the horrible news just now that an old friend died.....drowned in the Columbia river. We are sort of in shock. He was only 41 and has two teenagers....we did not see him often anymore, but this is the last thing we would have expected. Such a big, strong guy. The Columbia is not a very good "pleasure" river, you hear of drownings around here all the time, the water is so cold but the air can be so warm. We have especially treacherous conditions at the moment with the spring melt happening so late. Somehow he got separated from his boat when he took a swim? it is such a tragedy. He was a police officer so you would think he would have known the dangers. We found out via Facebook and that is rather a shock....I must say I don't like it when I get such bad news via my "fun" communication tool. It kinda spoiled our fourth for us. We were not doing much, both boys are off with their friends and we are just having a quiet night at home keeping the dogs inside, but hearing about the death of a good old friend isn't what we thought we would be doing tonight, especially not him. I don't usually attend funerals but I might try to arrange to go to this one, he was a very helpful member of the community to me and my friends at one time and I'd like to publicly show my respects if I can. It is just very surprising and frankly, pretty depressing.

I saw your Facebook post. I'm so sorry. Having just lost a friend way too young I feel for you. It's hard to make sense of it and I still find myself expecting Jim to be in the places we've always seen him. :hugs We also heard about his death via FB and I still haven't forgiven the person who posted it. He plays in the same band as DH and Jim and could make a FB post but not find the time to pick up the phone to call. I still can't accept that FB is an appropriate method of communicating bad news like that. Sorry, didn't mean to rant. Just trying to say I really do get it!

And yes I was teasing Abi, but partly serious 'cause you could give a bunny a patriotic name and honor our Abi at the same time! ;)
 
I wonder about that too. The person who posted the news is a city council person and the second person is a second city council person, all in the same town where the officer worked and where we used to have our nice house. I'm really more "friends" with that person because he is a dog rescuer and didn't even realize he knew Mike, although I guess I should know that they all know one another in such a small town. Mike was the most handsome man on the force and every woman in town knew it and they are all mourning. He was the faithful type but would wink at us ladies and he made many a heart go all a-flutter. He is one of the guys who brought dogs to me when the humane society was doing such a crappy job here, because he knew I would save them, and he was in charge of the neighborhood watch group that I was helping with when we had a real bad crime spree. We all became good friends and then he went back to being a motorcycle cop, because that was what he really loved to do. So when we would go to town, we would often see him on his bike, and he would smile and wave at us but we had not talked with him for a long time. I wish now we had found the time.

But finding stuff like that out on Facebook is rather icky, I must agree. I reposted it but after contacting the people I knew would care about his death.
