Well my bunny Daughter is dead, we had to process her tonight. When we came home, Trouble was in the middle of moving the tractor rabbit cage she was in, probably because he saw us arriving home and knew he was supposed to have moved it earlier and was about to get yelled at.He starts moving the thing too fast and Hubby is telling him to watch out, he is going to hurt the bunny, but Trouble doesn't listen real well and just continued, and snap, the bunnies leg got caught and broke.

We thought about what to do for awhile, but it was bent out at a totally unnatural angle, there was no doubt that it was broken and she was in pain, she could not stop shaking or hop around. We decided tp process her just a few minutes later, we cannot take her to a vet so that was the only choice that wasn't cruel. We were so angry at Trouble we told hiim to go to his friends house for the night, why didn't he move the tractor the way we showed him? I don't think I will use that cage at all anymore that way now. I feel upset that I spent so much time taming that one and letting myself get attached to her, I thought she would be my breeder replacing Nana so I worked hard on her personality. And I could have sold her for probably 40 dollars at this point, and instead we are having our first Creme dinner. Hubby is reviewing the skinning technique right now.
I sure hope that Trouble learns from this and realizes his parents don't give him advice and instructions just for the heck of it. I had very carefully explained to him how the thing needed to be moved so this should not have happened.. It sets me back on my rabbitry program quite a bit, she was going to be ready to breed in a few months, and now I only have the one doe, the one that doesn't produce and the four unsexed babies that are only two weeks old, it will be a long time until I can breed them.
I did have a nice day with my daughter and the baby, and we even went to an inexpensive but delish Mexican restaurant for dinner. We felt a little guilty because we called home and told the boys to go ahead and make hamburgers I had planned for tonight, but went out ourselves.
