Self Reliance Ideas

Herons are very territorial and if you put a statue of one near or in your pond then the others will not bother it.
still got no clue on how to get rid of raccoons!

My FIL has a motion sensor sprinkler for his Koi pond. When something comes into the area it starts shooting off. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Are those yours, Bee? Beauts!
Thanks! :D They are...but I have since sold the spotted one. I now only have the black, the white and her lamb.

These have been, by far, the easiest livestock in the world to keep....they don't drink alot, they don't consume a lot of hay, they are gentle and intelligent and they look great on my lawn.

I'd recommend hair sheep to anyone...especially the Katahdins. Gentle, great and nondiscriminate eaters, good and milky mothers and easy to handle.

You can have your lawn turned to a good use instead of actually spending money and time to mow it, you can reproduce them and sell or eat the offspring and you don't have to shear them.

I've had these for almost a year and a half now and haven't had to use any chemical dewormers nor have they had any health problems to speak of.

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!!! I would like ducks but I dont own a pond but the field behind my house has one but its coyote country out there so I am not sure about those. Does anyone raise earthworms?

my dad used to raise earthworms in our basement. it's super easy.
