simple ways to self-sufficiency this summer??

Hi! I live on a hobby farm and we are constantly working toward becoming more self-sufficient. I also write for a popular website about gardening and homesteading, and the current article I am tasked with is simple ways to self-sufficiency this summer. I posted here because I thought maybe someone had thoughts related to energy self-sufficiency. Are there any homesteaders or other "experts" that could give me a quote to use in my article?? I would just need a website/tik tok/facebook or some other online presence to "verify" you as a homesteader, farmer, etc. We would link to you in the article! Thanks you so much for your help!!

Energy self sufficiency…….. I live in East Texas where the heat is scorching and the humidity is in the stratosphere. I just pay the electric bill.
