I am on a bit, under an 1/2 acre in the city. I have 4 dogs, so enjoy plenty of yard for them. I also, have started a few sustainable living projects and am enjoying the way of life. I also have pics of my hydroponic bucket garden. This is a first for me and is coming along nicely.
Take a look at my page.

Hi!!! Welcome. Lots of great pics on your page. I have a rottie too. He is into "herding" my hes when they need to be rounded up. Not always the most gentle either.

I look forward to reading more about your water garden veggies.

this is a cajun pepper plant........ gorgeous and tastey

Here is one of my tomatoe plants and it is producing about 6 tomatoes a week.

The tomatillos are florishing and going crazy......... I actually had to take many of the plants that are also in tomatoe cages and bungee them to my back fense. As in between the weight of them and the wind they would go toppling over at least 1-3 times a week. I can not believe how well they have done despite all the falling.

The hydroponic method I am using is more of a passive system as the growing medium is a soil combination of good quality garden soil, 2 types of compost or manure and peat moss. It has worked quite well in the humid temps here in Missouri.

This is where I came up with the idea......... a great way to have a garden in the city if you have a flat roofed house!!!!!!! Amazing!
My soil is bad. The only place I have alot of sun is on the way back fense line and it would take a lot of soil to haul in to make it decent. With this system, my soil is great compared to what I would be hauling in.

Take a look at the site.......... you will see how I got interested and how it has worked for me. Now, my sister has a similar system in Denver and she used a different soil combo and is very disappointed. So, I think you do need to research.
I hope you enjoy.

Those are very neat! Thank you for sharing! I wish I had access to a ton of 5 gal buckets!

Peppers grow really well in buckets for me too. This year I did seranos.

PamsPride-

If you have a Walmart bakery nearby, you can get their icing buckets for a $1 a piece. We use them to build feeders and waterers for the chickens.
