Would it not be appropriate to begin with the birth of Christ since we are at that special time of year?

That is bound to be a positive theme as well.

Sounds like fun! Count me in. Should we start with a topic or a particular chapter?

To me a topic would be best. The Christmas story sounds like a good place to start. I have the King James Version with me now. Do we want to use a modern english version or stick with KJV?

Luke 2:1-14

Now Im not sure how all of this will work out but we can take turns picking scripture or I can. I just hope this is sucessful!!

The Christmas story is so beautifully worded in the old version, don't you think?

I think we should be open to all versions of the bible because some people may only have a different version and we don't want to leave anyone out.

I would rather you not. I want everyone welcome here. I want no one to harbor hard feelings.... :)

I just compared a modern version I have on my kindle with the King James version. They were surprisingly different! But the meaning was the same.

Why don't we not worry about which version and if it becomes pertinent to the discussion, we can look at which version says which. That might be an interesting viewpoint. I find the idea that different people have translated the Good Book a very pertinent topic.
