Dang...I thought it'd be slaugter pictures :/

Hee hee....

In the youtube videos I watched the people just grabbed the head in one hand and sliced the heads off - no cones or anything and just let the birds flop around....

I was then thinking that you wanted to attach the head to a weight and let the stuff drain from the head for some odd reason...

I'm weird like that.

Thanks I will remember that. :P So is it better with tequila?? I was thinking a Diet Rite and Sailor Jerry will be my best bet!!

I want to do my first batch without an audience or dh using a video camera. My neighbor says that's the best time to video.

Men!

Oh I thought of a question I had. So does anyone know what may have caused the deceased bird to have this problem??? Is it normal to have clear liquid pour out their mouth when you hang them upside down? Or might this just have been because the bird was ill?

nope. i'm guessing something was going on. sorry
:-(

but yeah it gets funnier on tequila and be sure that you do the "do ya think he's faking it?" joke... that just gets funnier and funnier...

great job baby!
:-)

Clear liquid pouring from the mouth could be a sign of impacted crop issues.

Loved the pic of the turkey hen in with the chicken hens in the nest boxes. :D

That chicken had some serious issues. It had something really scary out the other end. I can't imagine it would have lived very much longer.

:(

Thanks, I really enjoy my turkeys. I had a scare last night because one of the five poults was missing. I hiked all over the yard. Finally I went back to the coop. I found it sitting on top of the Momma turkey that's setting eggs. Actually I think this little one hangs out in the coop with her all the time now.

:love

I usually use a sharp poultry shears to do most of my cleaning chores. Knives are just too hard for me to hang on to and I have a lot less control when my hands are wet or gooey. With big or older birds we remove the head with tree loppers! ;)
