That is amazing to me. I love the whole idea of tapping trees, but no maples here. It fits into the self sufficiency life we all want to live.

Yep! It's running today. I'll try to get some pictures, headed out now to check on everything.

DH built an evaporator last year and is improving it this year :)

It's going to be too warm this week, not sure how it'll affect everything!

Tell me about the evaporator. We don't want to do anything permanent this year, so we're going for inexpensive.

Oh ours is ugly, not permanent and cheap. Lol I'll post about it tomorrow!

I read about a guy years ago that would take most of his maple syrup that he had made to the general store to trade it for sorghum syrup... guess he wanted a different taste sometimes

WooHoo for boiling! So, how much do you think you'll get? How much do you start with and how long do you have to boil it?
