Wish someone would pay me to get rid of my bugs, or to put praying mantises in the garden. I would have made a ton this year if I could have kept up w/them. :D

That worming clinic I went to was good. It was put on by a local tack shop and had someone from the U of Penn present it. It was basically centered around horses and basically found that everything I believed about worming horses was right. Most people over worm their horses. W/the way I keep my horses, she figures if I worm them like 1x a year, I'm fine. Quite truthfully, I don't even know that I really need to do it that often. I've been wanting to learn how to do a fecal flotation test. So hopefully I can learn how to do that this winter then I'll know for sure how they are.

How necessary would worming of pigs be if they only ever cover the same ground once a year?

Also - are there any parasites pigs can contract from grass fed cow manure?

Bump. Specifically, how necessary is worming when they only are on a given spot for 1 week of the year? Also, wiuld this aea still get "pig sick" from that short of a stay?

And my very favorite pig site. I have a feeling you will disappear into the computer reading and studying this site. It is beyond awesome and packed with information by someone who really lives the pig farm life. He talks the talk and walks the walk.
