Ooh, have fun! My house was "insane asylum white" on every wall when I moved in; now it's all kinds of bold, warm, happy colors and I love it!

I usually don't subscribe to the 'white is right' thing, but I did have an all white bedroom (tone on tone) that was gorgeous in our last house. Dealing with white carpet isn't fun, I'm tellin' ya.

For the most part, I want colors that aren't what everyone else has. I usually don't paint the ceilings white, either. I love, love, love colors and textures!

I had a bright yellow kitchen that I absolutely loved... I painted the walls yellow, the cabinets cream and the countertop royal blue... it was the happiest kitchen I ever had, it made me smile every morning.

Have fun with your painting! :)

I love paint too, and how can you go wrong? If you don't like it, just paint again!

I love using blue and yellow together, I have slowly turned almost every house that I have had blue-and-yellow. I accent it with green not so much red, but I like how they used it at that website, very "homey" looking without looking frumpy. So far in this house I've only turned three rooms blue and yellow....:hide

I love using bold bright shades and putting them right up against each other. My last house had four walls in the great room painted four different colors, and the ceiling was pale sky blue. Everyone commented on it! It looked awesome. I love painting ceilings sky blue! Especially here where we have gray skies a lot and rain, it makes me feel cheery in the winter and the yellow always looks sunny.

I'm actually in the midst of painting my spare bedroom light blue....

I like black and white with steel and stone. I like the stuff IN the room to be bright colored, but I like the room rather neutral.

My kitchen is a warm, happy pale pumpkin color, with dark green countertops and white trim. I have a collection of hand-painted tiles and platters that add even more color. I've been thinking of painting the dining room like a sunrise- pink tones at the bottom, moving toward pale lilac and finally sky blue ceiling, and of course a big yellow lamp in the center!

The living room is white, but that's because I already have a lot of color in the rug (a gorgeous 150+ year old persian rug- rich reds, blues and greens) and blue leather furniture. There are only two windows, and they are smallish, so I need lots of reflected light, especially in winter.

I'm working on the bathroom- pale blue with white trim and a border of whales and sealife around the top. The bedroom will be the same color of light blue, but with a deep cobalt for the trim.

I've never had a place to decorate. Apartments seem so temporary, I haven't even put up my pictures and stuff. *laughs* 2 years later.... oh yeh.... all my art work....

We'll be renting a house next and Imooto and Boy have Ideas. So we'll see what becomes of it :)

I've always imagined I'd do very eastern decoration. I would LOVE to have the period Japanese furniture meant for kneeling, not sitting. And I love middle eastern pillows. Did I mention my only chair is at my desk for work and that is only because I haven't built a floor level desk yet?
