I learned how to darn socks.
It has come in handy! I used to be a sucker for brand-new socks ALL the time, but I haven't bought new socks for a year or so. I darn them with a different color thread each time, just for fun. I darn SO's socks with mathcing thread (how boring). I have a pair next to me to darn right now...
