I have also had bad luck with cheap bags. I won't buy them anymore.

When we all do our Beef and Hogs we get the bigger bags from Cabellas and cut them in half and then seal the bottom to double our count.

Thanks all for your tips, Suf.forme the first thing i'd use them for is freezing roasted coffee beans i bought on sale.
I think mylar bags and oxygen absorbers is what i'd lean to, since i'm trying to store the coffee beans longer term 2-3 yrs..
The vacuum bags i'd use for general purpose stuff, freezing garden vegt., fish and such.
Those shrink bags you posted a link to may work well, the price seems fair.
Most of the bags are to big or to small for my needs, and the ones i'd order are out of stock...

I noticed the size I need is out of stock also, I will just keep checking back. I use mylar and absorbers on all my long term storage, they work fantastic but for the meat I was looking for something I do not have to use the vacuum sealer. Good luck with whatever you choose!
