Vitamin D fortified milk has corn in it!

Hmmm, I have a bald butted cat. Need to check food bag. I buy pretty high quality food but now I'm wondering....
As for the milk I never would have known that! Poor DS is allergic to both milk and corn. I was poisoning him!!! TG for SS!!!!

The bald cat thing tends to be more often in black and white cats. I guess they're more sensitive. I switched her from Purina Meow Mix to Hill's Science Diet which still has corn, but not as much. Check the first ingrdient. It should be meat, not corn.

Even dogs are getting corn allergies nowadays - most dog food is loaded with corn.

1 in 1000 dogs has a corn ALLERGY. Intolerance is completely different. (Learned that when I took my puppy to an allergist, since my reg vet jumped to food allergies so quick and I was like heck NO. And he doesn't btw lol.)

That's gross. I'm so disuaded with milk right now. Ugh.

I stopped drinking milk 20 years ago when I realized that, without milk, I stopped getting bronchitis every winter and stopped having asthma attacks so often.

Still cook with it though. Didn't know about them using corn for the vitamin D though. That bites!

Even though Royal Canin has less then ideal ingredients, they are super high quality and I have seen nothing but good things with their food. I see OLD, healthy dogs, and cats! No problems except for some large breeds have arthritis, but that's expected.

My cats were switched to Science Diet and promptly lost hair, switched back to RC and all their hair and health is back.

Its a mystery given all we know, but I don't see bad things with their food. However, anythings a step up from Purina.

If you went with good clean raw milk, chances are very high, that you would have no issues with it, and actually would find your bone structure becoming very strong, just like the rest of us discovered.

Oh geez, I wonder if that's what's wrong w/Rerun! Lately, she's been constantly scratching. I was thinking it was fleas, and have been combing her as much as possible. I've found some fleas, but not that many and recently I've been feeding the cats Meow Mix! I will be changing it today! And yes, she's a black and white tuxedo cat. (I just need to remember to take my glasses so I can read the ingredients on the feed bags.)

Cats are obligate carnivores and should not be given grains at all. Not less corn, no corn. The price of the dry kibble is higher in a no-grain food, but they eat a bit less of it and your vet bills over the years...or lack thereof....will more than cover the cost of the food. Trust me on this one. There is a reason I devote so much of my time and energy to making catfood!

Oh, and Deb, cats can easily develop an allergy to flea saliva...I have an older cat who seems to have suddenly done this. Once we figured it out, his skin is now almost cleared up.
