I knew I had another pic somewhere on my mess of a computer… I took this one about a week or so ago. I couldn't find out yet what that old building was used for. I think it was a factory or something. The house is attached to it, the owners renovated a bit of the derelict building and made that part of their home.
We walked a few miles this morning. Didn't get many good pics, as it was raining some of the way and I didn't want my phone to get wet, but it thankfully cleared when we got to top of the hill, so I got some from up there. (And some cows lol)
The village is down there somewhere to the left…
Slowly working our way up the hill… Looking back.
Cows on the way down. The road we took out the village is somewhere beyond the trees back there, on the right.
If you look VERY closely, down the centre, there is a tree in the field there, it's only tiny in this pic. We headed down from here, to the left for about 1/2 a mile, then slowly back to the right and our road home took us past (behind) that tree. It was a LONG walk, but it's lovely and the views from up there are amazing!
Plenty of those here! I'm a bit of a castle nut and I'm in heaven here. There are so, so many of them scattered around the place. My goal is to travel the country and photograph every single one of them for my site. It should take me about a year lol
I've been living in this village for a year and 3 months now and walked and drove on that road countless times and I still love seeing that stretch of road and the scenery. It's amazing when the sun's out.
What really tickles me is that road, it's maybe 7-8 foot wide, has a white line still in tact in some place down the middle lol When driving on roads like these I've learned how to squeeze past oncoming traffic, both vehicles half-on, half-off the road and not panicking because we're still barely inches apart. There are a lot of cars in Ireland with smashed rear view mirrors
