Several years ago, we had one of those freakishly warm days in January. So, I decided to go out in my canoe at a local state park, Parvin. There were no bugs, no people, just me and nature. And, I was fine-until nature started to call. I beached the canoe, got out to go and answer her. When I went to get back in, I overbalanced the canoe, and fell in. That water was cold! So, I got out, and started heading back. But, I was freezing. So, as soon as I got to the camping area, I beach the canoe again. Then, ran around collecting wood, etc and started a fire. (I always carry a few emergency supplies w/me for just in case, so I had matches.) I got a fire going in one of the fire rings, took off my shoes and socks, and dried them b4 the fire. I didn't have a bucket w/me, so I used the paddle to throw dirt on the fire b4 I left. I did stop at the park office and let them know I had made a fire and why for just in case they wanted to be sure it was out.
