How much accumulation do you have?
It snowed maybe 3.5 feet??? But it settled and now looks like 2ish.... about.

Lots of drifting and such since it was so light and fluffy.

Smack me silly.

5 hours of snow blowing yesterday to get the church side nice

A foot of snow last night...

4 hours this morning on our driveway...

And blizzard all-day

then when kid was starting on the church driveway side he slid the bobcat into the creek.

Yep... still blizzard but warming up... so nasty roads.

I drove into town before the slide into the creek. ....

So many cars had slid off the roads... all-over and every where.

I knew kid would need more diesel, not a single diesel jug in town to be had for love or for money.... so I bought a gas one, filled it with diesel.... on my way home... and get the call that I need to get back into town and buy all the things because the bobcat is half in the creek.

Tow strap busted, snatch block busted... old plow truck (that can no longer plow) still can't turn on (been working on that, off and on for a week), so they had tried to use the old Yukon as a towing vehicle... and it has crap tires as well as no chains..

So...

I bought chains for the Yukon, tensioners for the chains... went to the marine supply store for a snatch block that will handle 9 thousand pounds... even heftier tow strap....

Came on home.... drove up, unloaded the groceries...

Water got boiling, I had bought frozen tortellini..... and then the power went out.

Still out.

The food was just warm enough to call it done. So... good there.

We didn't have a fire going today since I was in town with 2 kids for eye appointments, and other kid was snow blowing.....

BUT, again... food was fully cooked.

So.... good.

Sigh.

Also.... I did call the super tow truck guy.. he is booked solid.. said he could make it out tomorrow morning IF the road is plowed and sanded for him. -smack-

I texted our back up plow guy... he still hasn't texted back... probably in a ditch or up past his eyeballs in snow.

I did bring 8 bags of sand home with me...

...

I suspect the main roads have some grading by the state?
Highly variable!

The big city has less snow, but colder.

We have to drive through a mountain pass to get there.

Unless it is summer and roads are dry.. I always find the turns and such a bit anxiety producing. It is gorgeous.

That mountain pass section is prone to avalanches... and then there is a bit that is prone to rock falls.

The older I get the more anxious I get. :th

Actual temp this morning is -17 and feels like -27

I want to whine about our cold but with temps like those I really shouldn't! So, I'll say that I'm happy our temps are in the 40's and staying there all day with lots of wind. Yep - happy! Happy I don't have to figure out how NOT to be a human popsicle, lol!

10 to -10 yes, -10 to -29, no not really, lol. I guess if I was outside for hours in it I could tell but once it hits -10 it all pretty much feels the same in the time it takes me to do chores.
I agree! Below 0 is just really freaking cold. The only different to me is my car seats don't squish at -20 or colder and my car radio/screen electronics malfunction below -20.

This is for @tortoise - my conversation with the grocery pickup guy today-

Him- sorry for the wait, hope you aren’t freezing! Me-no, I have heat, you must be freezing!
Him- I grew up in Wisconsin, feels like spring!
Me- yep… you’re fine then🤣
That's awesome!

We are at the part of winter where 10 degrees above zero feels "warm"

the sun was nice today. yes purdy! :)

1F this morning. the daytime temps are going back up this week so it will be like a heatwave. above freezing even almost to 40F, we'll see...

warmer temps will give the deer a break and perhaps they can go eat something else besides our trees.
Buddy at work has his apple tree tree trunks wrapped to protect against rabbits. With 2 feet of snow on the ground....guess who is wrapping higher?
