I want mandatory work at home days!!! But, I don't want the snow, ice and flash freezes...

I've worked from home for the last 18 years. It's not all it's cracked up to be. I had a horrible time separating work from home life at first. I had to set up a office. I would get up in the morning get dressed walk around the block then I was at work. When I was done I would walk around the block and then I'm home from work. Even now I still log in every evening just to check email and accept meeting invites for my calendar. It's also very hard for me to justify a sick day when you work from home. It's a lot better no that the kids have grown and moved out but man it was difficult working from home when they were young and expecially during the summer when they were on school break

Back in 2011, I worked from home full time for about 6 weeks. Being in IT, have worked from home on and off as needed. I hate it. I want to leave work at work. Tonight, I am monitoring batch processing because the network guys screwed up again and hosed an important client... again.

Hi Jamie what do you do in IT? I don't even know my title any more. Maybe chief cook and bottle washer or senior asylum and
sanatarium specialist :lol

Project manager by trade. Work for a small SAAS company. Directly managing the customer service team, but also leading various initiatives and projects.

I want to get back to being a pure PM

Heh, I get it. Drove a lot of process improvements over the past two years, but never get any credit. Only, but what about this, and this, and this.... sigh

I have a lot of respect for PM's. I can't project manage my way out of a paper bag. You have to be very analytical in your thinking then be able to get that out of your head into black and white and if that's not enough you have to be able to crack the whip and "whip it good" to get it done on time.

One of my son's, daughter in law and two grand kids live by Rockford IL. Brrrr look at these forcast temperatures. I recall when we lived in northern IL, i used to call it the frozen tundra. Northern IL gave me frost bite fingers and toes when I was a kid.

Congratulation we couldn't levave you out of all the fun snow we have in the states :)
Thanks! lol Rainy and cold here this morning with the wind chill making things rather interesting outside. Colder weather coming tonight and then through Thursday they say... I was thinking earlier if it's going to be cold like this, they may as well throw in some snow for grins. Make things interesting you know?
