Will be doing jerky this week. Spice mix is hard to find in store locally, online purchases have huge shipping costs unless buying in large quantities. Stopped at Cabela's Friday and loaded up.

I'd dehydrated the cottonwood buds before sending them to Mom's friend this year. It worked really well. I got her thank you card today and she said it gave her more time to get oil to put them in and that it seemed to be working faster than the fresh ones.

Parchment in the dehydrated worked well for keeping that stickiness off the machine. Then parchment packet in the bag.

pretty sure the smell alone would make that impossible for me. i was just reading the other day about a place that has an egg dehydrating facility and the people in the city are really fed up with the stench (no puns intended there).
