4 best, adjusting the soil PH was the ticket. A good soil PH meter comes in handy.

FB harvested elderberries yesterday, we plucked them last night, she's processing 6.2 lbs today.

Two more hours of pumping water and the entire fall garden will have been watered along with what is still producing in the spring garden. Picking enough okra for two meals or more a week on just a few plants. Keeping it watered has made a big difference.

same here, we have a pretty deep well and it has never run out so we are glad when we have a long dry spell that we can keep the gardens going. however, it does have some calcium and iron in it so the garden plants don't do as well as they do with rain. last year we would not have had much of a harvest with the vegetable gardens as we had a very long hot and dry spell with very little rains.

this year we've only needed to water the gardens a few times, plus i use the hose a lot when i'm starting the seeds in the gardens as i don't want to wait for rains or to rely upon them for germination.

Our aquifer is recharged from rain and Mt Rainier.

No real calcium. Soils here are calcium poor and it needs added for plants. We are very high iron, though. It discolors everything and leaves scale behind that flakes off later.

Forgotten in a dark spot. It's not rotten. Just that wiggle that old potatoes get. I think I counted 5 baby potatoes growing in there. I did stick it in a pot of soil because Mom was really insistent when she saw the pic.
