What did you do in your garden today?

I turned off the water for all beds. I need to rip them up. I did buy some cover crop seeds from Territorial Seeds. I'm hoping that they add substance to my raised beds.

Hummingbird feeders taken down, in the dishwasher, being cleaned now. Once dry, packed up for the winter.

Won't cut back the flowers until it frosts.

Weather station now properly permanently set. Well, I cemented into the ground a PVC pipe to use as a sleeve for the metal pipe the station is mounted on. The previous setup was probably fine, but I get picky about my efforts sometimes.

Picked a green pepper to dice up for the chili tonight.

Wrote off the garden today as a total loss. Tomato plants dead potatoes same new type of weed loving the mulch ... VERY weird year. I have never seen anything this bad. Thankfully we have some planters off kitchen that were in good shape so I did the same a couple peppers, a cucumber, a very small crop of Roma tomatoes (from a plant popped up from last year I did not pull as a weed ! red onion will be a salad on hummus/ground beef tonight and Chili tomorrow..
