What USDA zone are you in again?

Jesus is Lord and Christ ✝️
The stated zone is incorrect. The actual zone is a very cold zone 4 but zone 2 and 3 trees do the best. The problems are that it will be sub zero temperatures in January followed by a thaw which is then followed by more sub zero temperatures and another thaw in February.

These thaws often cause trees to break dormancy and suffer severe damage from the following sub zero temps.

It's shaping up to be a good peach and apple year :) I sucessfully defeated CAR (Cedar Apple Rust) this year. This golden delicious apple tree is loaded down with apples. I'm going to have to help it by adding stilts to its lift it's branches up. My opinion... home grown tree ripened golden delicious apples are absolutely delicious 😋 Unlike those store bought imposters.

Curious if you've tried USSURIAN pear as a rootstock? The furit it'self isn't worth a hill of beans, but It's said to be the hardiest of all pear rootstocks.

Nope, haven't done any grafting. I got a pear tree only because it is a fruit and the Summercrisp claimed to be hardy to -40°F.

I got the other pear trees because a pollinator is needed,

You haven't done any grafting? That was me a few years ago... you should give it a try, it's very rewarding.
