Prices are going to be even worse soon...so much fruit & veg imported. Even USA grown is picked green to ship. 🥴. Whatever local grown costs is worth it for taste alone.

Your fruits have been beautiful!! 👍

Thank You, that means a lot to me. Having never really been around a orchard, other than buying fruits and no one to teach me. I had to do a lot of studying and learning on my own. Having a successful year is reassuring that it can be done. And it's actually not even that hard, I find it rather enjoyable actually.

One day, sooner rather than later, I hope to never have to buy tasteless imposter fruits from the grocery store again. I have a few keeper apples that should get us through the winter when they start producing.

I got curious... 11 of our large peaches is a tad over 5 lbs. Probably would be like 15+ medium to large peaches to make 5 lbs. There are things I could do to make them larger and weighter. One being start to water regularly a several weeks prior to harvest. But that would just water down the flavor and make for a so/so peach.

Another day is wrapping up, where did the day go?

I helped... I skinned, pitted and sliced peaches, after FB boiled and ice bathed them, skins slipped easy.

Loring makes a very good juciy cobbler, at 1/2 the sugar called for in the recipe.

You need to try Peach-Berry cobbler especially if you have black raspberries to use as the berry.
