What did you do in your orchard today?

Cripps Pink the more I look at the tree the more apples I find on it. It's first fruit set for this tree and it set sparce. Not complaining at all, the tree is still a juvenile. Survived late freeze and isn't eaten up by fireblight. Crisps pink apples are colored green with a pink blush when fleshing up. I'm curious to try one, but it'll be a while before they will be ripe 🤔.

Grafting amazes me, I believe it's my favorite part of orcharding. After I cut the ziptie off I removed the parafilm because one of my friends is interested in seeing calliousing. These are the pictures I shared with him.

Oscar mulberry pushing leafs real well on wild (unknown variety) mulberry root stock. Will it fruit this year? IDK...

I am far from being alone with apple tree fireblight this year. Although I dont believe I have any that the centeral lead is infected and have to be cut down like what's shown in the video in Ohio. My worst is golden delicious on unknown rootstock. I grafted the same onto MM111 and yes they got hit but nowhere near as bad. MM.111 is said to be moderate resistance to fire blight, though it is not fully immune.

IDK... winter will reveal more, It should be easier to spot black cankers in the during dormancy to cut out of the tree. In the meantime... don't forget to take pruners with you when you walk the apple rows 😞
