What do I do with a fish after I hook it?

In Arkansas you might consider a bucket of water or a cooler because if they are on a stringer they may get ate by a snake or snapping turtle. More than a few times we have pulled in the fish stringer to find a snake or turtle latched on. An exciting time for one and all as people are cursing, laughing, running...

Sounds like many days past to me. I never got to go on a float trip/tubing but have spent many happy days on the creek fishing, playing, picnicking and plan many more.

Ooh, I just found this thread. I really want to learn fly fishing this summer! There is a free 1 day introduction at Orvis (expensive yuppy fishing and hunting store) about an hour away from me. I was going to last summer, but wasn't really settled enough to learn anything new.
