if you ever pick morels when you rinse them off save the water and scatter it around your property. we did that and have sometimes morels show up now including in places you'd never expect them.

the best mushrooms I've found locally are called Parasol mushrooms. They taste absolutely fantastic, and are impossible to confuse with anything else that grows round here because they are enormous!

Wild Strawberry leaves, Yarrow (I hate the taste, but it works very well to stop bleeding), Dandelion, Douglas Fir, Harebell, and Huckleberries (but not on my property). I love to make teas! Strawberry leaf or Douglas Fir needle tea is delicious!

I forage mushrooms!!! My favorite is chicken of the woods!!!! I also forage plenty of other things such as stinging nettle, wild plantain, dandelion root and leaves, Doc, the list goes on…….

I've found few edible wilds here but, turkey tail just last week👍 oh, I love a pan of sauted mushrooms. I buy them 🤣

Blackberry, elderberry, beauty berry. some dewberry that is getting harder to find. Very few fruit as mostly pine or hardwoods in this area. There's always the mullian, purslane, dandelions, ferns, etc. If you know where, there is also some areas with old asparagus growing along ditches. Apparently used to be a "crop" in this area. Now it's mostly feed corn, cotton, wheat, soybean, P-nuts. If you hunt, we have fat & healthy deer, turkey & dove. Plus good fishing with our waterways. Just need a license to partake.
