What is going on in Europe?

Here is one about a few economic time bombs ticking away right now...

"The spiral will not end until we dispense with the attempts to prevent failure. Most of the money that has been "lost" over the past few years was never really there. It's not coming back. It was pie in the sky to begin with. The sooner we acknowledge that, the sooner we can assess reality and start making logical plans for the future."

Truer words were never said.

Here's one other item for Americans to chew on: The Obama "stimulus" package that is "giving" us $13 per week is a complete scam. I know, I know .... hard to believe.

According to tax accountants, we may all want to consider lowering the number of exemptions we take. Why? Because although we are receiving $13 extra per week due to changes in withholding, neither Obama or Congress has instructed the IRS to lower tax brackets. So heres what's going to happen: the amount of money you earn in 2009 will be subject to the same amount of tax you paid in 2008, but you have had less withheld. So at the end of the year Americans are going to find out they are still liable for the taxes on that whopping $13 per week ($676) they "gave" us.

At the end of the day this is nothing more than a loan (for those people who actually pay taxes) until next April 15. If you don't pay taxes, I guess it doesn't matter to you.

I wonder where the "fair and balanced" news media was in reporting these facts. Olberman ... Mathews ... Blitzer ... Couric ... all took a pass on this story.

Did you hear that Obama is giving the Chinese eminent domain on private property? It's true. if you see a Chinese family walking up your drive don't answer the door. They may be there to take your property at a price set by them. I'll try to find the website.

What?!??!!? Does this mean I can't believe EVERYthing I read online??? Oh nuts! I might have to start using common sense and sorting through information to get the nugget of truth? What a stinkin' time-user-upper ;)

Hahahahahah!

Snopes says this is false. Hal Turner started this fabrication and if it had been guaranteed in writing msm would have picked this up.

Man I'm sorry. That's the last time I'll believe everything I read on line. So is it true that we're not really getting a tax break. That they're actually leaving the tax tables the same?

It's not a tax break at all, it's a card shuffle of your money, and they're going to get it from you one way or another. As for believing everything you read on line, I should hope not - at least not something that's only reported on some obscure blog somewhere.

You'll find out next April 15.

Even if the federal income tax stays the same, you WILL pay more taxes. It will death by a million paper cuts.

I truly don't want to start a war here, but why are we hung up on tax cuts anyway? We have had the federal deficit increase to a crazy number, are submerged in 2 wars and have a horrible economic situation. Never before has our country gone to war without cutting drastically somewhere else or raising taxes to pay for it. Well, we didn't and now we have some really big issues to deal with. I guess I'm not going to sob if I don't get a $500 tax break this year. I just really hope that people who are seriously tight for money get the help they need and I hope people who make a huge amount of money don't bellyache about helping out a bit more.
